Introduction
Murphy Trial Law is a law firm that prides itself on taking it personally when injustices are fueled by profits and corporate greed. With a history of standing up for victims since 2007, Murphy Trial Law was in need of an online presence that represented its mission and values. The goal was to design and develop a website that effectively communicated the firm’s goals and vision, improved user experience, and ensured accessibility and SEO optimization
Problem Definition
The firm initially did not have their own online presence, which posed a challenge in reaching potential clients and establishing the firm’s reputation in the legal community. The need for a website was evident, but there was no existing structure to guide the design and development process. Additionally, the firm wanted to extend its services more globally, which required a website that was not only SEO-friendly but also accessible to a global audience.
Research and Ideation
To address these issues, we conducted research into best practices for law firm website design, focusing on elements such as clear navigation, user-friendly design, and effective communication of the firm’s mission and values. Based on this research, we proposed a design that would effectively represent Murphy Trial Law’s mission and values, provide easy navigation for potential clients, and include key sections such as About Us, Our Practice Areas, Case Studies, and Contact Us.
Design Process
We started by creating wireframes for the new website using Figma, based on the research and the firm’s specific needs. We then moved on to creating a prototype, which we tested with a small group of users. Their feedback was instrumental in refining the design, and we made several iterations based on their input. Once the design was finalized, we handed off the design to the development team for implementation using WordPress.
Development Process
The website was developed using WordPress, a popular platform known for its flexibility and ease of use. The development process involved converting the wireframe designs into actual website pages, implementing functionality such as contact forms and CTAs, and optimizing the site for performance and accessibility.
SEO Optimization and Accessibility
To ensure the website was SEO-friendly, we incorporated strategies such as using relevant keywords in the content, optimizing meta tags, and creating SEO-friendly URLs. The website was also designed to be mobile-friendly, allowing users to access the site from any device.
Final Design Solution
