Description
WP Site for Metafort mobile game, Figma + WP
Introduction
Metafort, a game development studio, was developing a unique game called “GTA for Kids”. Despite being under development, the team understood the necessity of having an online presence to build anticipation and excitement among potential players. The aim was to design and develop a website that effectively communicated the game’s concept, sparked interest around its release, and ensured accessibility and SEO optimization.
Problem Definition
The game was still in the early stages of development, and there was no tangible product to showcase. The team wanted to build anticipation and excitement among potential players, which required a captivating website that effectively communicated the game’s concept and release timeline. The website also needed to be SEO-friendly to reach a larger audience and establish Metafort as a significant player in the gaming industry.
Research and Ideation
Drawing inspiration from successful game websites, we conducted research into best practices for game development website design. We focused on elements such as engaging visuals, clear navigation, and effective communication of the game’s concept. Based on this research, we proposed a design that would effectively represent Metafort’s creative vision, provide a platform for potential players to learn about the game, and include key sections such as About Us, Game Concept, Release Timeline, and Contact Us.
Design Process
We started by creating wireframes for the new website using Figma, based on the research and the team’s specific needs. we made several iterations based on their input. Once the design was finalized, we handed off the design to the development team for implementation using WordPress.
Development Process
The website was developed using WordPress, a popular platform known for its flexibility and ease of use. The development process involved converting the wireframe designs into actual website pages, implementing functionality such as contact forms and sliders, and optimizing the site for performance and accessibility.
SEO Optimization and Accessibility
To ensure the website was SEO-friendly, we incorporated strategies such as using relevant keywords in the content, optimizing meta tags, and creating SEO-friendly URLs. We also build the site fully responsive and mobile friendly.
Final Design Solution
The final design featured a clean, professional layout with a focus on clarity and readability. The main navigation menu was intuitive and easy to use, making it simple for potential players to find the information they needed. The website was fully responsive, ensuring a seamless experience across all devices. The content was well-structured and logically organized, making it easy for users to find the information they needed. We also ensured that the website was SEO-friendly and accessible to users with disabilities.
Impact and Learnings
With the launch of the new website, Metafort was able to start building anticipation and excitement around the release of GTA for Kids. The website effectively communicated the game’s concept and release timeline, and it provided a platform for potential players to learn about the game. This project taught us the importance of user research, effective design and development, and SEO optimization in creating a successful website for a game development studio.
